Teaching Art

I was lucky enough to be able to teach a short drawing lesson at an amazing school here in Tacoma. The Seabury Elementary School let give a lesson on how to draw faces using just a few simple boxes.

The lesson only lasted about 20 minutes but it was a lot of fun to watch everyone get excited about doing their own designs. These classes are filled with brilliant and creative kids. Working with them is incredible.

Side note: I am not actually a giant. Camera angles mixed with a short ceiling and a bunch of 1st and 2nd graders makes me look like Hagrid in these pictures.

This may be an inane question to ask, but I'm curious. What is the theme and the logic behind the numbers posted above the white board and what are the drawings supposed to be? I thought they were flags, but apparently not.
