Thoughts of Peter Pan...


So I kept sketching and came up with this sketch. Kind of choppy, a bit darker...I feel good about the strength of line, but have hesitations on the perspective and arm placement.


But here it is. I think not working out the jacket lines is part of what created the issues with the arm. I did work from the top to bottom and I think that can be seen in the quality as your eye progresses down the page.
*shrug* But...thats why I do this. To get myself to be more productively critical.

For some reason, this one doesn't grab me the way your other illustrations do.

I think it's because I don't sense the evil of the guy....

Taking a look at your old school stuff... Your personal technical critique notwithstanding, I really like this. I like that the traditionally aged character looks so childlike. It makes me consider Hook having the same -ism that Pan does; that he is also a child trapped in a child's world but that, somehow, a different path was chosen for him. I think it creates backstory.
